About
Margie Mersky and her Desire to Create
Wax Models, Wax Carving and miniature sculptures.
Margie Mersky
has twenty years of experience in the jewelry industry. Her artistic talents evident in her early life came to full realization in 1985 when she was introduced to the fine art of making jewelry. Her brother Bill was preparing to graduate from jewelry school when he died suddenly and tragically in 1984. By the encouragement of Bill's instructor, Margie's mother, and Bill's memory, she began her career as a jewelry designer. It was as though her legacy stood before her as she realized her love for the making of custom jewelry.
Margie's formal training includes hand engraving,
watch making and scrimshaw artistry. Additionally, she gained experience in stone setting, jewelry repair and manufacturing, as well as molding and lost wax casting. In 1999, Margie set up her private studio after ten intense years of stone setting and constant wax carving. Her passion in life is creating and designing custom wax models and miniature sculptures. In the past, she has created models for companies such as The Collection, Levine Design, Warner Brothers, Disney, Fossil Watch Company, and Department 56. She has a deep love for art and life, and works closely and diligently with those for whom she creates works of artistic beauty and perfection.
Additionally, current projects include perfecting the art of photographing her wax models to expand a portfolio of unusual and intricate pieces she has carved over the years. See some of her designs and

Margie's other artistic pursuits are jewelry illustration, painting, and sculpting. She also teaches wax model carving and design at the Minneapolis Technical College in downtown Minneapolis.
